IIT Kanpur is situated on the Grand Trunk (GT) Road at Kalyanpur, about 17 km away from Kanpur Central. The following options are available for reaching the IIT campus:

Exit from Platform 1, take a taxi directly from the Kanpur Central to IIT Kanpur campus. The fare is around Rs. 200/- depending upon the hour of the day. Autos are also available at Rs. 100 appx.
