Aims and Scope:

Technology, Operations and Management (TOM) is the official journal of the Society of Operation Management (SOM) devoted to further the understanding of all aspects of management of manufacturing and service operations. The first issue of the journal is planned for July 2006. The journal publishes high quality papers in the areas of theory, applications, novel ideas, new tools for investigating and producing
solutions to operations management problems. The journal particularly encourages articles dealing with international issues, practical experience, developments in emerging nations and other nontraditional and innovative aspects. Topics of interest include the following:

   
 
  • Manufacturing and Service Operations

  • Product and Process Design

  • Technology Management

  • Operations Strategy

  • Supply Chain Operations

  • Cross-functional Coordination

  • International Operations

  • Case studies of state-of-art practice to suggest new opportunities for research

  • Review papers on issuers of current interest

TOM will adhere to the principles of scholarly journals and therefore it will emphasize on rigor and contribution to the knowledge in operations management. The advisory board is truly international with committed editors from all over the world. All submissions will be first screened by the Chief Editor or by an Associate Editor designated by the Chief Editor for appropriateness of the manuscript adherence to the journal's philosophy. If the manuscript is accepted in the first phase it will undergo a blind review process by two reviews. The endeavor is to provide a quick turn around time with an initial decision within three months of submission of the paper.
